Hove 605

From Co-Op to Partnership

By Emma Summerell

Waitrose Hove, the division's sixth conversion of a former Co-operative store, opened on Thursday 10th April. It shared it's opening day celebrations with Partners from Waitrose Swindon and John Lewis York, who also opened their new branches on this day.

The branch employs 234 Partners. 72 of these were originally employed in the Co-op and have helped to transfer the store into a core Waitrose branch. Branch Manager, Nick Mort, joined his Partners to cut the opening ribbon and the first customers were presented with champagne and flowers.

The new branch is located minutes from the south coast and offers customers a cafe, deli, bakery and wine area.
