Horley (147) (Closed)

Waitrose Horley (147) opened on 14/11/1972.  The following appeared in the Partnership’s in house magazine, The Chronicle, at the time.

“Our newest branch in Victoria Road is a new building between a cinema, shown in the photograph, and the library and buses pass the door.  The windows with bold arches are those of the Partners dining room.

Midway between the Thames and Brighton is where our newest branch is situated, according to its Manager, Mr Malcolm Roberts”.

Branch 147, which opened its doors to the public on Tuesday 14 November.

  • Thank you for this. I remember the original store being built and opening and was wondering when that was and, how long I had been a customer! I remember the two large houses, one used as a dentist surgery, and a hardware shop that were there before.
