Helping them to keep their cool

Bury St Edmunds Partners helped the crowds to keep their cool when the Queen visited the town last week as part of her Jubilee tour.

Branch Manager Andy Marsh was called on by the council’s Tourist Officer to help, after becoming concerned that the forecast of hot weather would lead to problems.  If members of the crowd, some of whom would be standing for hours, began to get hot.

SM Dry Goods Alex Hill took up the challenge delivering 1,000 bottles of chilled Waitrose water to the town centre last Wednesday.  A team of Partners spent the morning mingling with the crowd dispensing bottles from cool boxes.  The branch also supplied 500 Waitrose ice lollies which were given to waiting groups of children, mostly from local schools.
