Southsea 170 opens
Our newest branch in Palmerston Road, Southsea, was opened on Tuesday 3 July 1979 and if enthusiasm is the key it will undoubtedly do well.
It had been announced to local housewives by the usual distribution of leaflets from house to house, but also by one or two new methods – while the building was still going up a series of panels on the surrounding boardings showed something of what customers could expect to see, and for the first time we made use of local radio to publicise our opening further. There was full colour advertisement in the local papers to.
