Sandhurst 799: Opening

Waitrose Sandhurst opened on 29/11/2007.

Billed as a new replacement for Waitrose Birch Hill, Sandhurst quickly took to its role in the community with ease, serving not just the existing customers of Birch Hill, but many new customers in the military personnel stationed in the nearby barracks.

A much larger store, Sandhurst had 6000 extra sq. foot of selling space so could provide a much bigger range of products. In addition to more space, it also had more staff with Partners transferred from Birch Hill making up just over half of the 170 Partners at Sandhurst.
