Waitrose to the Rescue

Windsor Castle was severely damaged by fire last week, but thanks to Peter Sharpe, Branch Manager of Waitrose Windsor and his team, the firefighters, police officers and volunteers helping to fight the blaze and rescue art treasures did not go hungry.

Mr Sharpe explained: “About 18 months ago, an arrangement was set up between the WRVS [Women’s Royal Voluntary Service] and Waitrose branches Windsor and Maidenhead to open our stores to help out with food and supplies if ever there was an emergency.
