Waitrose wins NGBF go-karting
Waitrose is also proving a force to be reconed with away from the supermarket shelves, as demonstrated by our team who triumphed at the recent National Grocers’ Benevolent Fund go-carting event. Up against 16 other teams in a three hour charity endurance event. Even after disaster struck with a faulty throttle cable, Waitrose pulled back to pass the chequred flag in the lead.
An excellent performance all round – Waitrose will not be forgotten.

I remember this event which took place back in 1998 well! Team members were from top left, Pete Benifer, Mark Dunster, Danny Kinsey, Steve Cox, Mark Daniels & myself, Steve Simner. An awesome team who won many events including the UK & Ireland Corporate Games later that year & also the first Waitrose go-karting Grand Prix at Silverstone in 1999 which consisted of 36 teams of 6 partners. Happy happy days!
