Slough closes

Slough traded for the last time on Saturday 5th August 1995.  Partners and customers were immensely sad to see Waitrose close after 37 years of trading in the town centre (5 years in the new branch, and 32 years in the original shop).

The decision to close was due to the financial position of the branch which had been deteriorating for some time.

About 80 percent of Partners will be relocated to nearby branches, some will take early retirement, while a few have opted for redundancy.
