James Turrell is only 18 but he has impressed members of his local community.

James recently received Kinver Parish Council’s Millennium Award, which was for outstanding achievement in 2003 at Edgecliff High School and in the Kinver Community. He was presented with a crystal trophy and a £25 cheque by parish council Chairwoman, Margaret Rogers.

James who has just started studying Human Resource Management at Aston University, Birmingham, was given the prize for his work as chair of the school’s ECO group, which raised awareness about environmental issues at Edgecliff.

Branch Manager Alan Fisher said: “James has done very well. He brought some ideas to the branch including a successful can recycling scheme.
