Mobility in a trolley

Wymondham shoppers with disability or mobility problems are celebrating thanks to the introduction of a new state-of-the-art trolley.

The ‘Roma‘ trolley made its Waitrose debut at the branch two weeks ago and has been put through its paces by several customers looking for comfort, convenience and above all independence when shopping.

The special trolley is like a glorified walking frame, but has a seat to enable the user to sit down and a basket to put groceries in.

Special features include a fully enclosed frame for an added feeling of ‘security and protection’, a gas-assisted seat lift mechanism for easy entry and exit and rear pressure brakes that are applied automatically when the seat is in use.
