Finchley: fire

The strength of the Partnership is evident in the aftermath of a fire at our Finchley branch on Monday morning [2/6/2003].

Partners across the business joined forces to offer support following the blaze, which caused significant structural damage to the building.

The fire was discovered at around 6.15 am.  Partners and cleaning staff escaped uninjured after they were alerted by the branch’s smoke alarm system.

Twenty fire engines attended the north London store from stations across Barnet, with more than 100 firefighters tackling the blaze.

It took almost seven hours to bring the fire under control.
