Helping beat the burglars
Our Bury St Edmunds branch has come to the rescue of a charity that offers skills training to disabled people, after its workshop was broken into for the second time in eight weeks.
Wood ‘n’ Stuff’s workshop in the town helps people with all types of physical disabilities get back into the local community. As well as teaching them carpentry, they also learn IT and gardening skills.
The group, which has around 110 members with varying disabilities, was left absolutely devastated when the workshop tools they use to build anything from wooden garden furniture to welsh dressers, were stolen.
Branch DM Steve Ward contacted the Charities Committee and they donated £1500 towards replacement tools and a new security system.
