Carol helps Justin Greenwood with delivery from Waitrose Windsor branch

Members of the team - all who have had Breast Cancer

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and throughout the country people are showing support by buying and wearing pink ribbons.

For the many sufferers of breast cancer, it is the help and support groups that gives them the strength to cope with their illness.

Bosom Friends based in Windsor, is one such group and the Waitrose Charities Committee were happy to donate £100 to help the group fund a reception for local dignitaries and supporters, to mark its tenth anniversary.

The small team included Carol Hill, Admin Assistant to Ambient Warehouse Manager at Bracknell thanked the Committee for the vouchers.

The event was attended by the Deputy Mayor of Windsor as well as doctors and clients.

Carol suffered from the disease 15 years ago and after recovery trained for Breast Cancer Care and helped set up Bosom Friends. She said: “We do not offer any medical advice, but we have all had and continue to have training from organisations such as Breast Cancer Care and Cancer Link. It does take up a lot of time, but what’s time if you are helping someone”.
