Marlborough jazzes it up

Marlborough branch supported the town’s 12th International Jazz Festival, which opened outside the branch.

Several hundred townsfold attended to witness Helen Shapiro perform the opening, before she conducted her own concert at Marlborough college.

Once again, the Waitrose Jazz marquee welcomed around three hundered guests, including Alastair Mackay, Partner’s counsellor, Nigel Burton, our Director of Development and Services, Gretha Dignan Principle Registrar and local MP Michael Ancram.

This years three-day festival saw 70 bands entertain audiences in 20 venues.  The event was rounded off with a Jools Holland concert and a procession of Nottinghill costume dancers, which attracted an estimated 10,000 revellers to the High Street.
