Leighton Buzzard

Leighton Buzzard has gone camel crazy! The branch recently sponsored a Bactrian camel at nearby Whipsnade Wild Animal Park and Partners have been flocking to the park to pay the camel, called BUMPS a visit.

John Hagues, Branch Manager explains: “I was contacted by the local paper, the Leighton Buzzard Observer, which was organising an ‘adopt an animal’ scheme together with Whipsnade Park, and asked if the branch would consider sponsoring an animal.

The idea appealed to me as it was something different and it helps to promote the Waitrose name in this area. It also shows that we are supporting local good causes as Whipsnade Park is a registered charity.”

It cost the branch £100 to sponsor ‘BUMPS‘ and the money will be used to pay for her food and bedding. The Waitrose name will be on a plaque in the park.
