South Harrow: Opening
Bright sunshine helped to create a welcoming ambience at Waitrose South Harrow which opened on Tuesday 21st May 1966.
Cries of ‘Oh, it’s absolutely lovely!’, could be heard as people walked around the wide aisles savouring the light and airy atmosphere and examining the wide assortment on offer.
The coffee shop was soon busy and the bacon rolls, selling at 99p for a substantial amount of bacon packed into a delicious rustic bread roll, look set to be a sell out.
