As temperatures soared to 45°C in Abu Dhabi at the end of June, customers enjoyed the oasis provided by Waitrose’s first store in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The new 27,000 sq ft store is in the Boutik Mall, Sun and Sky Towers, Al Reem Island. In common with Waitrose’s seven other stores in the Middle East, it is managed by Fine Fare Food Market LLC (FFFM) with the support of Waitrose.
FFFM has also recently announced the acquisition of two supermarkets in Bahrain, which will run under licence as Waitrose supermarkets. This brings the total number of Waitrose outlets in the kingdom to four.
