Long running friendship

Donating a Waitrose bench and more than £2,000 to Thames Valley  Hospice at Windsor, was a way of marking true friendships for Shona Paterson.

Shona, Waitrose Stock Accounting, ran her seventh London Marathon this year in 3 hours 54 minutes with her friend, Ann-Marie McHale.  The pair hoped to raise money to donate a Waitrose bench to ThamesValley Hospice.  The bench was to be in memory of Marian Blythe, a former Birch Hill Partner and friend who died at the Hospice in 1996.

When the pair successfully raised £2,100, the Waitrose Charities Office offered to donate the bench allowing Shona and Ann-Marie to offer the money to the hospice for equipment.
