Driver in top gear

Lorry drivers based at Bracknell entered the Truck and Van Driver ofthe Year national competition and ended up driving away with four cups.

Colin Burrows picked up two cups, one for winning his class and another as the most succesful older driver at the national finals held at the Defence School of Transport, Leconfield, Yorkshire on Sunday 1st September.

Keith Marden and Peter Edwards also entered and finished second and third in their heats to get to the final, where Peter finished in fifth place and Keith in 17th.

For the first time ever in the competition a father and son were on the rostrum with Colin’s son, who works for another company also winning, make it a real family affair.

As well as winning his class Colin, who has been overalll winner three times, finished fourth overall.
