Group D Community work 2012

Partners across Group D came together in September 2012 to help breathe new life into a run-down community centre and playground for children on a council estate in south-west London.

In total 82 Partners donated around 700 hours between them over three days to the Alton Community Project in Roehampton. This included creating a sensory garden and planting 15 trees, which were donated by Longstock Nursery, weeding, cleaning and clearing of the site of rubbish. They also installed raised allotment plant beds, built a brick barbecue, painted the outside areas and completely re-decorated the inside of the Community Centre.

Branches raised £5,400 through Community Matters which went towards paying for six benches as well as two instruments for an outside music station.
