The wave of panic, which had been gaining momentum, as a result of Covid and Lockdown, gave birth to an overwhelming sense of madness, anxiety and fear which ripped through our town and beyond; our beautiful store had been ransacked by silent hoards, looted and skinned to within an inch of its life.
Shelves, previously heaving with ample stock, had been stripped bare just within a matter of days.
It was devastating to see the aftermath – our lovely store laid bare and unrecognisable.
These photos were taken around 1.30pm on the 20th March 2020, 3 days before the official start of te first national lockdown in the UK.
