A marathon effort

Berkhampstead Partner Chris Read is warming up for his first marathon in two-and-half years after struggling with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

The ASM Checkout is looking forward to taking part in the Paris Marathon on 8 April and raising money for two charities, after battling against the little-known syndrome.

CFS is a debilitating and complex disorder characterised by profound fatigue that is not improved by bed rest and that may be worstened by physical mental activity.

Chris is training hard and running about 70 miles each week.  The two charities that he wants to raise money for are the Hospice of St Francis  and Get Kids Going activity that helps kids with disabilities.
