On Sunday 14th March 2021, Waitrose Dorking celebrated an exciting milestone. One of the original supermarket style branches and still trading from its original site, Partners put together a fascinating display delving into the branch’s history using imagery from the Partnership archives. Another display was also created to celebrate the long service of Partners in the branch.
To help bring the past to life, previous versions of Waitrose uniforms were displayed including a copy of the blue dress worn by female Partners when the branch opened its doors in 1961. Blue dresses were also donned by Partners in branch to create an immersive experience for customers and Partners alike.
The photos below were provided by Dorking Partner Jane, a long serving Partner who helped to put the display together.

The 1960s don’t feel that long ago, but interesting to see how things have changed. Congratulations on a fascinating display. It took me back.
