Pedal power at Esher branch
An Ascot couple helped to raise much-needed funds for Guide Dogs for the Blind when they spent Sunday cycling on ‘spinning bikes’ outside the Esher store.
Simon Dickson and Claire Boxsey from Ascot took part in the fun-raising event to kick-start a six day, 451 km fundraising cycle ride around New Zealand this November. The couple are hoping to raise £5,000 for charity from the trip.
Claire said: “My boyfriend Simon is a Personal Trainer at Zen Energy gym in Ascot and is a keen cyclist and suggested we do some outside activity-based fundraising for local charity. We chose Guide Dogs for the Blind, because during my career, I have worked with many blind people and have seen the benefits and improvements to their quality of life a Guide Dog can bring.
