Double hat trick for Hexham

Waitrose has been recognised for the sixth time in a row at the Tynedale  Business Awards.  Our Hexham branch has collected the award for the best national retailer for the past six years, in an event that has only been running for seven years.  We retained the long-held title of the district’s favourite national retailer ahead of competitor Marks & Spencer.

BM Peter Forsyth said: “It’s really staggering to have won again.  It was very close this year with M&S, but we snuck in to win.  It does mean we are under a lot of pressure to keep this up for next year”.

Organised by the Hexham Business Forum, over 200 businesses were nominated and the event attracted in excess of 10,000 votes.  The award was revealed at the branch’s AGM.
