High Wycombe: Opening

On Thursday 10th March 2016, the Partnership was eagerly awaiting the bonus announcement for the financial year. For High Wycombe Partners, there was double excitement, as they officially opened the new branch at 8am.

The ribbon was cut by Partners Carol Line and Jon Scott, under the watchful eye of Wycombe District Councillor Ian McEnnis and Branch Manager, Paul Taylor (who will also celebrate 25 years service later on in the year).

The 25,000 sq ft store includes a meat, fish and deli counter, an instore bakery and an extensive wine department. Customers will also be able to collect their John Lewis purchases at the JL click and collect point.

The branch forms part of the local areas Handy Cross Hub project, which once completed will include the new Wycombe Leisure Centre, a park-and-ride service, a hotel and a new range of offices.

100 new jobs were created in the branch, with new recruits being employed for longer hours, so that they are in branch more often. This helps Partners to take ownership of their business.

Futuristic Flexibility

High Wycombe Partners have received four extra days of training, as they are the first branch to trial ‘working flexibly’ which means they are trained across the whole branch as opposed to one section only. This new approach is to be trialled in Caterham, Camden, Teignmouth and Salisbury as part of the Modern Waitrose plans.
