Leighton Buzzard opens

Branch Manager, Mr Alex Burns (left) with his Deputy Manager, Mr Reg Humphreys
Section Managers (from left): Mr Bryan Dovey-FRV, Mr Jayanhal Tailor - Non Food, Mrs Janet French - Office Manager, Mr David Pepper - Provisions, and Mr David Godfrey - Grocery.

Our new branch in Leighton Buzzard opened on Tuesday 6 October.  It is in a new trading centre, with 16 other units, and as so often happens Waitrose is the first to be in good running order, with open doors and full stock.

  • Good grief, that’s me on the left of the Section Managers. I was young once after all!

It was a great time getting ready to open the Branch. Us Section Managers were there two weeks before we opened helping to  get things ready and meeting our new staff. Ops manager David Ramsey came on opening day as did Dads Army star Clive Dunn who opened the Bossard Center. 154 was always a great branch with a homely and friendly atmosphere. Made many good friends over my two stints at the branch and its good to see them still doing well.
