Week ender's awards

Two sixteen-year-old weekend assistants at Newmarket (160) recently gained the Chief Scout Award, an achievement which is a culmination of five years hard work for both of them.  They had to complete several difficult and different tasks.

Karl Adamson , who works as a weekend assistant in the meat room, included a thirty-mile hike and six months working at Newmarket Hospital as an assistant orderly in his work for the award.  He will now be helping to run the 2nd Newmarket Scouts.

Stuart Brown organised an expedition in the Lake District and was involved in cooking, for his award.  He will now act as an instructor for the 1st Newmarket Scouts, and hopes in the course to join the Venture Scouts.  His connections with Waitrose is as a weekend assistant in the grocery section.
