Invitation to Englefield
Our Reading branch played it’s part in helping to raise £70,000 for charity, by sponsoring a gardens’ celebrity lunch.
The store was asked to help sponsor the three-day event, held at stately home Englefield House, to raise money for a Motor NeuroneDisease charity and the Dutchess of Kent Trust, which looks after terminally ill children.
Branch Manager Bob Matthews explained: “I was asked by Lady Benyon, who resides at Englefield House, to sponsor the event.
I approached the Waitrose Charities Committee to gain sponsorship and was able to use the money to provide food for lunch, from our By Invitation range and other branch produce”.
