Food preparation, practical workshops and presentations of techniques were all on the agenda at a training day on the Waitrose-sponsored Focus on Food Cooking Bus at West Ealing.
Nine Southend and SalisburyFood & Home Studio demonstrators were invited along with the aim of maximising their expertise in the planning and delivery of primary school workshops.
During the training day, they were able to develope their skills so they have more in-depth knowledge of the National Curiculum and better methods of delivering practical food education at Key Stages One and Two.
The teaching techniques were delivered by Director of Focus on Food, Anita Cormac and Cooking Bus Advisory Teacher Ann Kerry.
Both branches offer local primary schools an opportunity to take part in workshops, held in the Demonstration Studios each week.
