A different kind of AGM

St Saviour was able to have a memorable AGM which also provided a great opportunity for local students at Highlands College.  A Partner, who is also a student at the college, approached DM Carrie Slowey to help with the project.  The students team needed to plan and organise an event as part of their BTex Leisure and Hospitality course.  “The AGM immediately came to mind”, said Carrie.  “We had an initial meeting with the group and their tutor.  We discussed budget restrictions and company expectations and from there they pretty much ran with it and ultimately executed a great branch event”.

The AGM celebration took place in a local hotel and the event kicked off with Partners having their photographs taken in their finery and a glass of champagne.  After the business results presentation and Partners awards the students had organised a hot buffet, DJ, raffle and then karaoke.  “I really enjoyed working with the students on the run-up to the event”, said Carrie.  “They achieved so much and had got the branch real value for money – clearly some of the students had great negotiating skills”.
