Announcement of Dartford's closure

Partners Told of Proposal to Close Waitrose Dartford
Partners at Waitrose Dartford learned yesterday that the Partnership is proposing to close the branch next year, subject to business consultation with Partners.
This is not a  decision we have taken lightly,” says Stephen Hider, Director, Retail Operations (South). ”However, since the shop opened in 2004 and despite the best efforts of Partners at the branch and centrally, we have not been able to make the branch commercially sustainable.
In the event that we proceed with the closure following the consultation, we will endeavour to find alternative work for every Dartford Partner who wishes to remain within the business. If the closure goes ahead, Waitrose Dartford will continue to trade until at least February 2014 before vacating the premises at the end of March when our lease expires. Partners at Dartford were informed on Thursday morning and they will be supported by Personnel and Retail through the next few months.
