Waitrose Henley opened in February 1965.
The layout of the shop was straightforward with four wide aisles running the length of the shop and long runs of tall fixtures between. All of the chilled cabinets were round the outside of the shop – a new idea. As well as the four check-outs by the main Bell Street entrance there were also two more by the back door that led directly to the big public car park behind the shop.
Waitrose Henley relocated to a new site 50m down Bell Street in 1994.
