Partners volunteer skills for good cause

Partners at St Ives swapped tills for tools last week in a surprise BBC  Changing Rooms – style operation.

BM Clare Schofield and her team gave a day room at C.A.T.S. (Community Action Today in St Ives) a local day centre for adults with special needs, a complete decorating makeover while its members were enjoying an activity outing.

The Partners were also joined by an interior designer from John Lewis Peterborough, who was on hand to offer advice and support.

“The idea came about when a branch team building day was cancelled due to the foot and mouth crisis affecting the venue.  We saw this as a fantastic opportunity to do something for a worthwhile cause and at the same time achieve our goals” said Clare.

“It has made a significant difference to the room, allowing better use of space and more storage and creating a more colour-coordinated room.  The centre is used for music, art and developing social skills.
