Saxmundham: charity
Coffee cups were raised in celebration last month [Oct 2012] as Partners at Saxundham presented a Community Matters cheque for £600 to the SMILE cafe, a weekly pop-up cafe that provides refreshments and respite for carers and adults with dementia, learning difficulties, mental health problems, strokes and /or head injuries.
The cafe, which is situated in the Fromus Community Centre in Saxmundham, is run entirely by volunteers and co-ordinated by the PASTEL Community Interest Company and the Rotary Club of Saxmundham & District. It offers people a place to socialise, relax and reduce their sense of isolation.
