Bloomin' lovely!

A year’s supply of Waitrose flowers was the fragrant prize won by customer Sandra Meggison (pictured with John Foley, Head of Buying Fruit, Veg and Horticulture), whose entry ‘Zing’ was chosen as the name of a new variety of Chrysanthemum.  Last Tuesday, as part of her prize in the competition run by Waitrose Food Illustrated, Mrs Meggison visited Southern Glasshouse Produce, owner of the biggest glasshouse in the country.  While there she was presented with a certificate, and said: “I am absolutely thrilled.  I love fresh flowers and now my home will be sweetly scented every day for a year”.

The flowers have white petals with a flash of green and we expect to sell around 60,000 of them each year.
