1971-We tried advertising without success.Our only advertising now is when we open a new branch and advertise for a week or so to let our potential customers know we are there.

1990’s- Advertising was used in newspapers , on posters in store, all displayed to look like framed pictures.

2001-Not until the 2nd May that Waitrose lanched its first-ever television advertising campaign but still highlighting our policy of 

              ‘Quality food honestly priced’
