Aylesford transforms garden

A group of 15 Partners from Aylesford have helped to transform various areas around the RDC into a small fruit tree orchard and lite gardens, using the 75th anniversary money and Partner volunteering hours.

The Partners spent a week in February laying a path and planting 40 fruit trees and casing for the necessary cabling, in weather that included sun, hail, sleet and snow blizzards.  A second week followed with the planting of shrubs, bushes, flowers, herbs and vegetables, the installation of some wooden arbours, the arrival of two driftwood benches and the fixing of a bespoke copper tree, made by a local sculptor.
