Awards bears fruit at Leckford

Leckford-grown Cox apples have scooped a top prize yet again with the award for the “Best long term stored Cox apples”, at the prestigious Marden fruit show.

Grown throughout the summer months and harvested during September, some of the fruit is picked for immediate marketing and the rest is kept in controlled atmosphere storage for use later in the season.

This time for the first time ever, most of the apples were marketed in March under the Leckford brand in all Waitrose branches.
