Brisk Opening Trade at Aylesbury

Waitrose opened its new shop in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire last Thursday and sales have been strong over the branch’s first weekend of trade.

Branch Manager, Rose, says the new shop has received a warm welcome from local shoppers. ‘Every single customer we spoke to was so pleased that Waitrose had come to Aylesbury’’ she says. ‘We have been selling a lot of our top end, more unusual products which shoppers can’t buy with our competitors. Ready meals and Easy to Cook meals have been selling well, as have our ready to eat lines and sandwich trays for lunchtimes.’

The 21,000 sq foot shop in the town centre’s Exchange Street, received 1300 applications for its 165 jobs. It has provided jobs for 19 long term unemployed people as well as two apprenticeships.
‘It’s been very busy and the high calibre team has done brilliantly’ adds Rose.
