Opening on 4th November 2010, Waitrose Spinningfields was intended for Manchester commuters and those visiting the newly opened Spinningfields shopping complex in the city centre.
Right next to an ice rink, Salford train station and a number of other local transport links, including a free bus to the store, it was no wonder the branch was busy during mornings, evenings and the lunchtime rush.
There were also plans, at the time, for a second Waitrose store to open in Manchester city centre with Waitrose Manchester Piccadilly opening four years later, in 2014.
Both Waitrose Spinningfields and Manchester Piccadilly closed in 2018, having been sold to Co-op.
Former address: Manchester House, Bridge Street, Manchester, Greater Manchester, M3 3BN
