Opening July 8th 2004, Waitrose Worthing proved an instant hit with the locals, as sales were the highest of the Morrisons/Safeway conversion so far, at the time.
Situated in a central part of Worthing, with a 23,500 sq ft selling floor as well as a 250-space car park, this new store was a great new asset to the area.
In just two weeks the entire store was gutted. As reported in the Partnership’s in-house magazine, The Gazette, the Managing Director of Waitrose, Steven Esom, reported “It was the first conversion we have opened with a pharmacy and I particularly liked the health and beauty section – it looked stunning.”
Facilities available at the Worthing branch include: click and collect, dry cleaning, flower wrapping, as well as a range of fresh counters such as fish, cheese, delicatessen, patisserie, meat and bakery.
Address: High St, Worthing BN11 1LL
