Raymond Blanc has been associated with the Partnership as a Consultant since 1994.
Monsieur Blanc, chef patron of Oxfordshire restaurant ‘Le Manoir Aux Quat Saisons’, has been described as “the most imaginatively accomplished chef in Britain”.
He described his appointment as an opportunity to pass on his own love of food. “I will be working with the Waitrose team to develop new ideas, flavours and textures, and I am looking forward to sharing the creativity, skills and knowledge I have acquired over the past 15 years” he said.
In a Gazette interview the journalist remarked he was:
“Dark and dynamic. Clad in chef’s whites he strides across the cedar-shaded lawn of Le Manoir, emanating energy, heading for the area of land that has become one of the talking points of the Hotel”. This turned out, not to be somewhere for hidden romance, but his lovingly tended organic kitchen garden.
