'Jelly' the Jersey cow

Wymondham showed its support for dairy farmers by inviting a bovine guest, in the form of Jelly the Jersey cow, to the branch one Saturday with her friend ‘Holly’.

The animals were highlighting the plight of the dairy farmer at the same time as promoting Waitrose’s positive stance towards paying them a fair price.

Jelly the Jersey cow spent most of a Saturday outside the branch creating great interest amongst our customers, especially those with children.

Three-year-old Jelly , who is brown and white – unusual for a Jersey cow – is a registered pedigree and the star performer at Jonny’s farm in South Norfolk.  When she gave birth on Christmas Day, her calf was known as Jelly Baby.
