Guildford says Goodbye

Mr Gumm and Mr Dodsworth

On Saturday 27 January at 5.30 our branch at Guildford closed its doors to the public after nearly ten years of trading in the town.  For many customers and staff alike, it was a rather sad occasion.  A number of customers had shopped with us ever since we began trading in the town.

A farewell party was held in the Non-Food Warehouse for about 80 Partners.

  • Hi. David Gumm was my manager when I worked in Guildford. I don’t remember the year. I worked for Waitrose for 31 years and loved every minute. I went from Guildford to the old Godalming Waitrose, and then to the new one just down the road because we moved to Farncombe, so we walk to work. Lovely shop and people…
