Waitrose Chronicle

Waitrose Chronicle has been recording the fortunes of Waitrose to its Partners for a quarter of a century, and the picture shows a few of the covers which have appeared in that time.

They date from 1950 (top left- a printed publication without pictures – this was the issue which marked the First anniversary of its publication); 1960(with a drawing of our Gloucester Road premises by Mr Maurice Ramsay, then our Accountant and now Accountant of John Barnes); February 1967 (with a drawing of a supermarket on the cover and the opening of Tilehurst celebrated inside);1968 (with JLP in centre); and September 1973 (centre, is the new A4 size of page and a picture of several of our long-serving Partners, all Branch Managers).

Beneath them are four of the ‘special‘ covers which have marked various occasions – Christmas 1969, the £20 million turnover party of September 1969, Easter 1970,  and the arrival of decimal coinage in 1971.
