Egham: Opening

Waitrose Egham 519 opened on 22nd January 2015.  The following article appeared in the Partnership in-house magazine at the time.

Despite a four-month delay to the opening of our new branch in Egham, spirits were high when Partners finally cut the ribbon last week [Jan 2015].
The branch suffered a setback during construction when a drain collapsed, meaning 160 Partners had to be redeployed across 20 different local branches.
When opening morning finally arrived, Partners were thrilled, and it was all hands on deck to make sure everything was ready.
Andy, HoRO for group D, said ‘What really stands out is the fortitude of the Partners as they were supposed to be at this opening around November.
‘We found out at the last minute that we weren’t able to open the branch which meant they spent Christmas away from home, working in other branches. But they all stuck with it. It’s wonderful to see them back here looking really positive and excited at working in their new shop.’
Customers were also delighted with the new branch with several waiting outside to see the Mayor of Egham, Councillor Waddell, officially open the branch.
