Oxford, Botley Road (581): Opening

The first ever core branch for Waitrose was opened in the historic town of Oxford on 15th October 2015, to the applause of a crowd of local shoppers. As reported in Waitrose’s in-house magazine, the Waitrose Chronicle.

The Deputy Lord Mayor of Oxford, Councillor Colin Cook, and Branch Manager Greg Porter were joined by Security Guard Ambrose Emmanuel, who had been chosen to cut the ribbon after his friendly personality during the six months he worked at the construction site proved a hit with locals, as reported at the time in The Partnership’s in-house magazine, The Gazette.

Facilities currently available at Oxford include fresh fish, cheese, delicatessen, patisserie, meat, sushi, hot food and bakery counters.
