Waitrose shoppers support charities

Three local charities recently met Reading West MP Alok Sharma when he presented them with the December donations from Reading’s Community Matters scheme.

Reading Community Church , Reading Samaritans and Reading  Multiple Myeloma Support Group all benefitted from customers’ generosity at Christmas.

For the third charity, it means much needed equipment and reducing the cost of members attending support meetings.

Support Group leader Lyn Holman says: “The money from Waitrose will also allow us to meet the running costs of the group for the next four or five years – were absolutely delighted”.
